Elizabeth Sparger is a native of South-western Virginia where, as a youngster, she was inspired by the resourcefulness and hard work of the craftspeople from Virginia's small mountain communities. After formal liberal arts training at Sarah Lawrence College, Elizabeth spent time in New York City where she found inspiration evreywhere she turned. Looking for a middle ground between rural Virginia and the Big Apple, Elizabeth moved to Louisville where she landed an apprenticeship with Ted Harlan. This collaboration has helped Elizabeth to develop her classical skills and to find her own specialty–turned vessels. She has now been teaching woodturning and furniture building since Fall 2005.
